Mary Andersen
ERISA Compliance Specialist
Mary has over 25 years of successful benefits consulting and administration experience. She is recognized as an executive whose leadership style is effective and pragmatic with a strong ERISA technical background and excellent people and project management skills. This experience includes building a consulting department of 35 professionals which provided consulting services to the clients of a major financial institution as well as introducing new services (QDRO and hardship determination) and revamping the 401(k) nondiscrimination testing services. Mary also spent 12 years at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she was jointly responsible for developing and building a national compliance review practice.
Mary has been a frequent speaker on compliance related issues at ISCEBS and WEB local chapter meetings as well as the ISCEBS National Symposium. She was an instructor for the ISCEBS program at the College of Insurance in New York. She served on the Board of the ASPPA Benefits Council of the Delaware Valley. She currently serves on the Board of the Central Pennsylvania chapter of ISCEBS and has published several benefits related articles. She co-authored an article titled “Employee Benefit Programs – Why Should You Be Concerned?” published in the November/December 2003 issue of HR Advisor – Legal and Practical Guidance. Mary is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a BS in Math. She is also a CEBS fellow and member of the charter class.
